• I had this error before and there was nothing wrong with status.net. there was a security program which caused the issue. the system administrator checked log file and had it fixed.

• thanks @aric. I just want to make the blog function optional to every user. they will need to activate the blog function if they want to use it. openid sounds good. do I need to register my site as openid provider somewhere?

• it should be working if you updated the PO and MO files under that folder. the only reason I can see is that the language of your browser is EN_US. unfortunately I don't know too much about Mac.

• you can use POEDIT to edit the status.po and it will create MO file for you automatically. upload both PO and MO file to that folder. if default language of your web browser is en_GB, you shuold see the updated message.
