Also, you should make sure that the user you're using for StatusNet has "ALL" privileges on the database. ("Grant ALL on yourdatabase.* to 'username'@'%' identified by 'password'").

Hi, TZAdvantage. Yes, if you want to use StatusNet privately but can't afford the private plan on status.net, you'll need to move to your own servers. Our tech support can provide you with a full dump of your database.

Matt, that's absolutely the case. We're strong supporters of GNU Social. If there's an issue with AGPLv3 and attribution -- which I don't think there is, but I could be wrong -- I think we can work it out pretty easily.
