New account "silenced." I think it's a mistake.

Hi,

I just signed up for identi.ca. I joined 2 or 3 groups. Then I tried to post my first status update and it said i was banned from doing that. Then I refreshed my profile and I had been silenced. Here's my profile:

Now i see i'm not allowed to log in? How do I fix this? More importantly, what should I do in the future to avoid this happening?

Thanks!

Warmly,
Marshall

  • I don't think it's silenced. I can see your page or status.
  • @esuperfoods

    Your account has been unsilenced.

I'm not sure what the automatic spam protection's triggers are, so I can't address that. The site is not for advertising or SEO, but for interacting with other users. If you remember that, you should be okay.
  • I got banned again. Why does this keep happening?
  • @esuperfoods The anti-spam scripts and daemons are pointed at bulk silencing spam users. By spam we mean any kind of SEO, advertising, feed abuse or the alike. If your account uses such methods it is very likely to be silenced sooner or later.
As @lnxwalt pointed out, if you avoid that kind of behaviour you should be fine.
  • I'm not doing anything like that. Can you review my profile and let me know what I'm doing wrong?
  • btw, i don't sell anything or have anything to spam. I just created a blogspot health blog.

I thought I could meet people with similar interests here.

    EDIT (habi): Link removed
  • @esuperfoods I asked the private Moderators group what they think of your account. Evan, the CEO of StatusNet is also part of this group which makes the 'ultimate' decisions. I'll get back to you when I get an answer.
And I removed the link from your last post above, since it also looks like SEO in my terms...
  • I was just showing you that I actually don't have anything to promote. Do I want some people to see my website? Yeah, of course.
