Hi can someone help me here? i installed the script and i have this error

    You're not using a password.
    You need to previously setup a database and username/password.

    Did you look at the readme and make sure you have all the appropriate php modules?
    Can you show me your .htaccess file, config.php and phpinfo?

    It's very simply explained in the included README file, please look at that first.

    You need to make /file /background and /avatar writeable.
    You rename it to ".htaccess" after changing rewritebase to /

    now that you have the proper .htaccess file you should delete your config.php and recreate a blank database and run the installer again.

    i locate the mistake.was hidden an old htaccess file and i put show hidden files,i deleted it and i follow your instructions and works fine.thans

    i have installed latest version of statusnet.
    after succesfully installation i have getting error like below for each page:
    "This is the public timeline for Gear Box Motors but no one has posted anything yet. Why not register an account and be the first to post!"
    and register function is not working also.

    If you have any idea about my installation mistake then please let me know.
