User wants to delete themselves

edited May 2010 in General
Hi there,

Now I feel stupid, a user has emailed me and asked how do they delete their profile. I have tried to look through the site and I have looked through the forum and i can only see that i can delete a user when logged in as admin or through the command line. Is there any way that the user can delete themselves?

Comments

  • @tweXXX no, but this should be fixed! i'll bug @brionv about that
  • @aric @brionv thanks, i will just delete them manually for now, it would be nice for them to be able to delete themselves.
  • @tweXXX indeed. soon.
  • @aric any news on this?
  • Any news on this?
  • no. sorry.
  • Any news on this? This is right on identi.ca!!
  • @fernando you can now delete yourself at example.com/main/deleteaccount in 0.9.7 it's reachable from your settings page.
  • @jordanc Sorry for my English! I'm using version 0.9.7 but in my settings page appears only for backup and restore account. How can I enable the option to delete the profile? Where edit this panel?
    Thanks for your help
  • Please someone help me with this?
  • @fernando if you manually type /main/deleteaccount after the address of your site do you see the delete menu?

    @jordanc I see it...

    Forbidden

    You cannot delete your account.
  • @fernando If you're the administrator you won't be able to delete your own account, but your users should be able to delete their own accounts from that url. You may need to enable the NewMenu plugin for the link to show up in the settings page...
  • @jordanc The users also cannot delete your account through that url. I'm using version 0.9.7fix1. Do you think I should use another version? How do I enable NewMenu Plugin?
    Sorry I ask so much
    Thanks for your help
  • @jordanc I tested the version 1.0.0alpha2 and the same thing happens the User does not delete your account.

    @fernando you can enable NewMenu by adding the following line to your config.php
    addPlugin('NewMenu');

    EDIT: aha $config['profile']['delete']='true'; added to your config.php should do it.
    Sorry I missed that.
  • Thanks @jordanc. It worked perfectly. You saved my life. haha
