meteor can be used most of all to your own server.
but for a private?
I tried with version 1.0 cometd javascript. but I'm not very good in the installation, hosting all the files in public_html / cometd or where I host it.
then call:
require_once (INSTALLDIR. '/ plugins / Comet / CometPlugin.php');
$ Cp = new CometPlugin ('http://mysistem.com:8080/cometd');
with fancy url false.
/ / URL fancy
$ Config ['site'] ['fancy'] = false;
but do not know what I need and how to install and configure it as well.
if they could make a tutorial step by step installation of this plugin realtime.
I understand that not only help me but many more found in the same situation and are not so expert to configure the plugin or realtime.

I don't recommend the comet plugin; cometd is insecure. However, if you want to use that server, see http://cometd.org/ for downloads.
We use meteord for status.net and it's the real-time server I recommend right now.
