Can I link my Status Desktop to my localhost?

I installed Status Desktop as my desktop client for my own status.net setup. I have added successfully one account linked to a remote site (run by me). But I cannot add another account to my localhost with user/password and http://localhost as the site. The localhost is up and running fine in my browser.

The purpose to link to my localhost is that I am doing some tweaking to my status.net setup.

Any hints?

@Taylor I need some debug info, look at the sticky on the top of th forum for details. What you see in the statusnet or apache log when you try to log in as the second user?
