when could the default theme be as better as twitter? StatusNet is really good, but the theme is really so bad. hope the theme could have a big improvement soon.
Agree with tuiliu. The appearance needs to be improved.
As web publishers, we have to compete with twitter, facebook, tumblr, posterous, to name a few, in addition to all the other blogs and news sites out there.
Anyone who uses the web (or twitter) regularly will notice that any site using statusnet looks strange.
@snl there are some new (and very nice imo) themes available if you get the most recent StatusNet from http://gitorious.org/statusnet you could also always make your own themes ;-)
Well, in my personal experience, StatusNet does allow you to override the theme CSS in the administration screen - even simple tweaks like fonts/font sizes etc improve and personalize any theme a lot - otherwise the best way I find to get it the way you want, is to customize and/or make your own unique theme. :-)
@Sarfaraz I like your theme, however its violating the gplv3 license that statusnet it released under. You must provide a link back the code you are running. http://status.net will do.
Some people say GNU Affero General Public License permits to remove the link on front end pages as long as we keep the URL to Developer in source code .Is that right?
@sarfaraz, on a side note, you may want to pre fetch your rollover backgroupnd image on the top right nav bar. If it is not cached it looks empty the first time over.
