Upgrade 0.9.1 to 0.9.2 failed

I upgraded to 0.9.1 and it seemed to work. Then upgraded to 0.9.2 and now get a blank page.
I upgraded "in place" which I assume means overwrite all files, using FileZilla ftp.
The program does not get passed the head tag when I look at source file.
Left the old config.php in place.

  • @Ralph is you copied on top of the other files, you may be left with old files that do not belong. its best to rename you old directory so that you can roll-back just in case.

    blank page eh?

see what the logs are saying:

  • ok, upgrade from .8 to .9.1 seemed to work. did not do much testing.
tried copying over 9.1 with 9.2. left everything in place. did nothing else.
    get blank page.

copied .9.1 back into directory. seemed to work.

renamed .9.1 directory. copied .9.2. into new directory. left everything in place except copied old config.php file to .9.2 directory. did nothing else.
    get blank page.

error log shows nothing. when use install.php get the following message:

    Config file "config.php" already exists.
Fancy URL support detection failed, disabling this option. Make sure you renamed htaccess.sample to .htaccess.

error log says: File does not exist: /home/twivr/public_html/check-fancy

when renamed htaccess.sample to .htaccess that made no difference.

    This is on FreeBSD server.

  • @ralph FreeBSD? I have no idea.
  • @Ralph ,

Did you find a resolution to the "Fancy URL support detection failed, disabling this option. Make sure you renamed htaccess.sample to .htaccess." error message that you were encountering?

I had this issue, and I downloaded the htaccess.sample file via my FTP Client, Renamed it to .htaccess on the computer (Ubuntu Linux) and then re-uploaded it, cleared my local DNS Cache, and the Browser Cache.

That fixed the issue for me.
