I need help in just updating the changes I made in the language file as they are not reflecting on my site. What would be the steps to get it to change.
Did you copy the files to the correct location? At least for the docs you need to copy them to a new folder, as specified here: http://status.net/wiki/Translations
Mi version 1.1.0 no me deja seleccionar el idioma español, ni siquiera machacando en el directorio /locale/en/LC_MESSAGES/statusnet.po y /locale/en_GB/LC_MESSAGES/statusnet.po el fichero de /locale/es/LC_MESSAGES/statusnet.po. La configuracion del idioma es demasiado complicada, debería simplificarse para lograr una instalacion mas limpia y sencilla que permita la extensión de este software. Las multiples ayudas mediante wiki, foros, etc., tampoco ayudan y los que se ofrecen a facilitar una ayuda solo pretenden captar mas usuarios para sus instalaciones. Deben mejorar el soporte de su aplicacion.
@jordanc PoEdit on Mac stopped making .po version of the .mo files. I've been wondering how to run that "make" and finally found this post. Guide me please :)
On Mac I've used hombrew http://mxcl.github.com/homebrew/ then in terminal "brew isntall gcc" and maybe "brew install make" then navigate to the locale directory and just run "make" from the terminal, that should compile to .mo to .po
