i can't login into my account, "Not allowed to log in". i use the service the same way i use twitter, g+ and friendfeed, to post things about free software, politics, science etc, articles i read, why did you guys blocked my account?

@habi I don't understand what you mean. Mostly what I share is articles and music. It's stuff I find interesting and want friends to see. I'm not a lifecaster, though I share my thoughts from time to time. I also use Identica to post to Twitter.

@ovigia I've just seen one post from you going to the Debian group (if you prepend a word with ! like !group, it's going to all members of the 'group'). Just out of curiosity, do you read all the links you post, and why is the excessive tagging necessary?
@habi I am a cartoonist so unavoidably I will post links to my cartoons, and the occasional joke or article, completely unrelated to me or what I do, that I find amusing or interesting. The very last post was actually a podcast of a radio program about comics.

For the last 24 hours I've been unable to log into ident.ca. When I try I get "Forbidden Not allowed to log in." I mainly post links to my own blog posts (2 a day at most) and repeat other's notices I find interesting. I don't consider my conduct spammy but if it is please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Just got this garbage today. Great way to get me back to using Twitter. Anyone with half a brain who did even a small amount of checking would know I'm so far from a spammer it's not even funny. I've ran a legitimate website since 1999. For many years have actually been a small part of security community online. Helping people avoid the very pieces of garbage one of your moderators has obviously tagged me as. Interesting how I've done nothing different using this service than I have done on Twitter for years & I have never been in violation of their terms or of doing anything wrong. This doesn't exactly endear me to your part of the open source community. As for a promotional tool if I'm not allowed to promote my own work our thoughts on this service what is the point - basically useless.
@Iggyz Might it have occurred to you that there are humans at 'work' here? The system of manually blocking accounts might not be the best or flawless. I've unblocked you, but your post in this forum doesn't really make you come over as the nice guy you seem to want to be. Calling volunteer helpers garbage doesn't really help. And if you're such a smart guy you could also have set up your own StatusNet-instance, but since you don't seem to interact at all with other people, that might be pointless anyways.
I'm getting the same with @jimh - I'm super unimpressed with the process, if I hadn't been a regular on identi.ca for years I'd have given up on the service altogether.

@Gemini I've unsilenced you. Your silencing might have been triggered because you *only* post links. That's not what identi.ca is for. It's a community site for interaction. There are better/other ways to save links.
@jimh I've unblocked your account. Seems like an error, sorry. And yes, the process needs to be improved, e.g. we need to record who silenced who and have a proper way of 'getting back' silenced accounts which are legitimate and not from spammers.

Admittedly I don't know what %age of people are getting incorrectly silenced, but going on the comments in here it seems to be a rather common theme, could the modhelpers please be a bit less trigger-happy?

@jimh i'm personally silencing around 20 spammy users per day (!), so the percentage of false positives is fairly low, I hope.
