Attachment handling

Hi guys,
I deployed statusnet on Windows. Good work guys, I am impressed! Now I am playing a bit with the whole thing and some questions popped up that I was not able to find in the forum.
One of them is about attachments. Whenever I attach a file (some plain txt for example) then the filename hidden under the ur1.ca is changed dramatically. Is there a way to either turn this off or to persuade statusnet to use some logical (e.g. human-readable) naming, keeping the original filename in the name?

  • @MichalKolar At this time, I do not think that's possible, but we are reviewing the attachment code for upcoming future releases.
You can adjust the url shortening settings to only shorten longer urls, but they will still be saved as something along the lines of username-datestring-something.txt for now.
