New to statusnet and having a blast with it.

I'm trying to use the Trickepost script and having difficulty getting it to work. Wondering if anyone else has it installed that might be able to help.

The issue is a 401 error when running tricklepost.php, which I believe may be due to an authentication problem.

When I hit the page ../api/statuses/update.xml I get the http authentication box. When I try using my local account authentication it fails.

Wondering what I might be missing?

Tricklepost is not the issue. Can't authenticate on API period.

I am also trying to setup Trickle post and get the following error: 401 WARNING! Failed posting

@darretking are you using php mod-apache or cgi?

@darretking @autopiawire Are you guys able to authenticate against the api with the browser? What happens when you hit http://your.site/api/statuses/friends_timeline.xml? Do you get a authentication prompt?
